Sewer Line Replacement
The sewer lateral is the line carrying waste from your building out to the city main. When it fails, no amount of drain cleaning will hold — the pipe itself has to be repaired or replaced.
Older Ventura County properties often still have clay or cast iron laterals. Clay joints let roots in; cast iron scales up and eventually cracks. Both reach a point where replacement is the honest answer.
Inspection before anything else
Replacement is a serious job, so it should follow evidence rather than guesswork. A camera run down the line shows what has actually failed, where it is, and how deep — which determines whether trenchless methods are an option or the line has to be dug.
Open-trench replacement
Where a line has collapsed, changed grade, or sits under an obstruction, digging is the reliable route. The old pipe comes out and new pipe goes in at the correct fall, which is what stops the problem recurring.
Permits and inspection
Sewer lateral work is permitted work. As a licensed C-36 contractor we pull the permit and the work is inspected — which matters both for the job being right and for your records when you sell.
