Slab Leak Detection & Repair
A slab leak is a leak in a water line running under the concrete foundation. Because the water has nowhere obvious to go, these often run for a long time before anyone notices — and the damage builds up underneath the whole time.
The two things that matter are locating it accurately and choosing the right repair. Both depend on what the pipe under there is actually doing.
Locate first
Nothing gets opened up until the leak's position is established. Cutting concrete in the wrong place is expensive and does not get you any closer to the answer.
Repair, reroute, or repipe
A single leak in otherwise sound pipe can often be repaired directly. Where the line has already leaked more than once, rerouting that run above the slab or repiping is usually the better decision — repeated failures in a buried line rarely stop at two.
Acting sooner rather than later
A slab leak does not resolve itself and it does not stay the same size. The longer it runs, the more water goes into the ground under the foundation.
